Kendrick Lamar secured his 22nd Grammy award after winning 5 trophies this year, and for good reason. Kendrick Lamar debuted with his first album Section.80 in 2011 which carried the emotional and psychological weight of several experiences he had growing up. Before his studio debut, however, Kendrick had released four mixtapes under the moniker K.Dot since 2003. His mixtapes mostly featured Lamar’s freestyling, earning the interest of Top Dawg Entertainment. Today, Kendrick has released 6 full studio albums and featured on multiple tracks with other renowned artists and has won several titles and awards throughout his career. WILCO’S A GHOST IS BORN GETS A REISSUE!
Wilco is an American rock band based in Chicago starting from 1994. The band’s lineup often changed up until 2004, where the group’s member lineup was solidified. Wilco’s 5th studio album A Ghost is Born was originally released in 2004, earning a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album that same year. Wilco has explored multiple musical elements between alt-country and indie rock styles. The band’s primary style is heavily influenced from the 60s and 70s. A Ghost is Born also features one of the band’s most unusual inclusions, “Less Than You Think,” a 15-minute track that Tweedy referred to as “the track that everyone will hate.”
