One World Under Doom, Marvel Comics’ biggest crossover event of the year, continues to be packed full of surprises and interesting twists and turns. Written by Ryan North, known for comics such as Fantastic Four and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, and illustrated by R.B Silva, known for comics such as Rise of the Powers of X and Captain America: Symbol of Truth, the series sees Doctor Doom become a seemingly benevolent dictator of the world. As heroes desperately rush to stop him, their ideas of who Doom is and his motivations will be challenged and the Marvel Universe changed forever.
Following announcement of several tie-in issues that will show how the status quo-altering event reverberates across the Marvel Universe this summer, including one focused on Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti’s G.O.D.S, the nine-issue series will skip July, only to return in August with a pivotal issue that sets the stage for the event’s final months. One World Under Doom #6 will see a dark truth behind Emperor Doom’s power exposed — but will it bring about Doom’s fall or simply force him to tighten his grip?
Doom’s reign has been a success for months – beloved by the people, even as some of the heroes question if they’re on the right side.
