It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman Day!
Mattel announced a slate of toys in honor of the Man of Steel’s national holiday, which is celebrated annually on April 18, and this summer’s theatrical release. The company has a broad range of toys from Fisher-Price, Imaginext, Hot Wheels, and Uno.
Arriving in the toy aisle this fall, Uno Superman ($6.49) delivers a deck with graphics inspired by the forthcoming film. For ages 7 and up, the game includes a special Kryptonite rule allowing players to grab green cards from every hand. Families can fly into action this fall.
Fisher-Price Little People Collector Superman Through the Ages ($24.99) will also arrive in the toy aisle this fall; the set has packaging inspired by comic book covers. For collectors ages 13 and up the set has four Superman figures. They honor fan-favorite moments, from Superman’s first appearance to the Death of Superman storyline, an aged and weary Superman, and his electric transformation.
Imaginext Superman Kaiju Clash ($34.99) is also inspired by the movie. For ages 3 and up, the two-piece set includes a 3-inch Superman and a 10-inch tall towering Kaiju, which comes to life with sounds and action. At the risk of spoiling the movie, kids and fans can attach Superman to the chains for an epic battle. This toy is available for purchase June 1.

Also part of the Imaginext line, the DC Super Friends Superman Insider & Exo Suit ($26.99) launches Superman into action. A poseable Superman can take to the cockpit of the Exo Suit and use Power Pads for rescue action, with lights, sounds, and projectile-launching action. DC Metal Force inspires the DC Super Friends Metal Force Supermobile Vehicle ($14.99) and includes a 3-inch Superman figure, a car, and two discs. Kids can activate battle action with the press of the Imaginext button. Both toys are out now.
Hot Wheels Monster Trucks 1:24 Scale Die-Cast Toy Truck ($19.99) is also available for those who can’t wait. Kids ages 3 and up can crash, smash, and go into overdrive with giant wheels. The body of the truck features a Superman colorway and his shield.
