NIGHTLIFE NOIR releases brand-new preview for upcoming fifth issue

TBD

Nightlife Noir, the anthology comic from writer/creator Jack Mulqueen, returns for its fifth issue. Debuting four years ago with a hugely successful Kickstarter, the series remains one of the most interesting independent titles currently being published. Inspired by Mulqueen’s own experiences working in a nightclub, the anthology series is an expansive neo-noir look at the most famous city in America.

Every night, as the sun goes down in the city that never sleeps, millions of New York’s most debaucherous denizens set out on the streets seeking all sorts of trouble. Nightlife Noir serves as a chronicle of their stories, featuring dozens of different artists throughout its run, all adding their flavor and style to the anthology.

The fifth issue of Nightlife Noir follows the wild single-night journey of a hundred-dollar bill from club to dancer, to drug deal, and further—never know where you’re going to go next in this rollercoaster through the seedy underbelly of New York City. It features an absolutely killer line-up of artists, with illustrations and artwork from Len Gogou, Kelsey Ramsay, Marianna Ignazzi, Filya Bratyukhin, Nil Vendrell, David Still, Abylay Kussainov, Brian Level, Edison Neo, Artyom Toppling, Liana Kangas, Paul Azaceta, Amalas Rosas, and Marc Garreta. Additionally, it features the work of colorists Kurt Michael Russell, Jason Wordie, Michael Woods, and Jason Finestone, with letters byHassan Otsmane-Elhaou. The cover, seen below, is illustrated by Adam Gorham.

The Beat is happy to present a preview of the brand new issue, which can be seen below. With the talent of over a dozen artists behind it, the new issue is shaping up to be something special, with Mulqueen’s writing being the unifying force that grounds every interpretation into one cohesive story. This stylish, energetic preview shows off some of the best the book has to offer, and if you have yet to check out the series you definitely should.
