Disguise, the costume division of Jakks Pacific, partners with Aniplex to launch a product line of licensed costumes and accessories based on the hit anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.
The new deal grants Disguise the rights to expand its product lines for kids and adults into the global market starting next year, as well as to expand its existing product lines, previously limited to certain regions of the world, to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The line’s accessories will be available in stores and online later this year, with costumes following next year.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who, after losing his family to demons and his sister being turned into a demon, becomes a member of the Demon Slayer Corps. The manga and anime series have gained widespread recognition and popularity among fans worldwide.
Tara Cortner, President and GM of Disguise, shares her thoughts on the deal: “Anime is no longer a niche genre, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has solidified itself as the leading brand in fan engagement. We’re excited to be part of this global phenomenon and cultural moment with the launch of our new line of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba costumes and accessories — designed for fans of all ages.”
