From North Carolina, John Coltrane is noted as one of the most influential jazz and blues players. He studied music in Philadelphia and became a notable figure of free and modal jazz. Coltrane is noted for his talent in brass instruments which was first recognized when he served the Navy in 1945. He later joined the Navy musicians under a special guest role to avert suspicion from superior officers. At that time the jazz scene exploded in Philadelphia where John Coltrane became a famed up-and-coming artist with a unique sound. Though he passed early in life, his influence lives on in jazz.

Kaytranada is a Haitian-Canadian music producer and DJ who appeared on the scene in 2010 producing mixtapes and remixes early in his career. He released his first studio album in 2016 which held high positions on multiple charts for house and dance music. Since 2015 Kaytranada has been nominated and won several awards for his work. He won a Grammy in 2021 and was nominated for the 2025 Grammys. Kaytranada is also known for being part of the hip-hop duo Celestics with his brother. This new record Friday, his fourth studio album Ain’t No Damn Way! gets a fresh pressing!
