First published in 1977 by Rebellion, 2000 AD quickly became known as “The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic,” selling millions of copies in the U.K. and beyond. As the series’ 50th anniversary approaches, Rebellion is gearing up for a total licensing takeover, and it’s kicking off the celebration at Forbidden Planet.
A new fleet of 2000 AD products is heading to Forbidden Planet’s retail shelves, joining its previous series collectibles already available in stores. The lineup includes licensed t-shirts, prints, home goods, accessories, and enamel pins, with additional items planned for release beyond 2026. The items recreate iconic moments and characters from throughout the series’ legendary run, including fan-favorites like Judge Dredd, the ultimate lawman of Mega-City One.

Anthony Garnon, Head of Pop Culture at Forbidden Planet, said, “2000 AD and Forbidden Planet’s special relationship is a timeless galaxy-spanning triumph for the ages! Dating back to both legendary outfits’ earliest days, this DTR strengthens the bond between the two undisputed giants of the British comic-book world, and gives 2000 AD‘s army of thrill-power addicted fans more chances to pick up merchandise featuring their favourite scrotnig worlds and characters. As our pal Tharg would say: ‘Ghafflebette!’”
