The Grade10 Festival in Hong Kong drew record crowds, unveiling the world’s largest display of PSA 10 Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat cards.
More than 400 gem-mint cards were arranged in the display. The card is inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat, forming a wall worth approximately HK$5 million ($641,000).
Held Nov. 22-23, the festival welcomed more than 23,000 attendees — a record turnout — and hosted 120 exhibitors, with approximately 20% from outside Hong Kong. Grade10 distributed four of the sought-after Pikachu cards, including two PSA 10s, during the event.
The Pikachu card, released in 2023 through a collaboration between The Pokémon Co. International and the Van Gogh Museum, remains in high demand. Organizers say the festival’s turnout and global participation underscore Hong Kong’s rapid emergence as a hub for trading cards in Asia.
The festival also featured zones for grading, gameplay, networking, and trading, offering a comprehensive experience for collectors and newcomers alike. It was the first event supported jointly by MemeStrategy and 9GAG. With Meta’s Threads, they introduced the Threads Wall, an interactive installation that became a weekend highlight, drawing influencers, generating social engagement, and encouraging live attendee reactions.
