KessCo is expanding its growing lineup of licensed tabletop experiences with One Piece: Dawn of Liberation, a new cooperative board game based on the globally popular anime and manga franchise. Developed in partnership with Toei Animation, the game adapts the Land of Wano arc into a large-scale, narrative-driven adventure for one to four players.
“Our goal was to capture the spirit of One Piece in a tabletop experience that feels as epic as the story itself,” says Alex Kessler, CEO of KessCo. “Working with Toei Animation to bring this universe from screen to table has been amazing, and we can’t wait for fans to experience the adventure firsthand.”
The project brings the world of One Piece to an expansive tabletop format, combining character-driven crew building, mission-based progression, and resource management. Players form teams using characters from the Land of Wano storyline and work together to complete objectives, gather materials, and recruit allies on their journey toward confronting Kaido. Designed for multi-hour sessions, the game also incorporates a built-in pause-and-resume system that allows groups to break up the experience without losing progress.
The franchise continues to maintain an immense global reach after more than 25 years, with multiple films, video games, a trading card game, and a wide range of consumer products. KessCo’s new title adds to the property’s expanding presence across gaming and collectibles.
Fans attending PAX Unplugged are the first to try One Piece: Dawn of Liberation at Booth No. 2257 ahead of its official release. An online preorder campaign is scheduled for March 2026, with shipping expected to commence in the third quarter of the same year.
