Batman is getting a new mini-series called Knightfight this November from the creative team of writer Joshua Williamson and artist Dan Mora, and it will tie-in to the forthcoming DC K.O. event, the publisher announced Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con.
The announcement came during the second half of the panel, which focused on the aforementioned event (the first half was all about the Absolute Universe), and it came along with this excellent Mora artwork…
In terms of what the book is about, the creators said it would be part of the giant tournament that is at the center of DC K.O., and it will see Batman squaring off with alternate future versions of his many different Robins — specifically versions from Gotham Cities in which he himself is gone, and Dick or Tim or Jason has become that world’s Batman.
Also announced in that half of the panel is that writers Mark Waid and Christopher Cantwell will be team-writing The Flash during the event, with a story arc called Impulsecontrol.
Finally, in a brief aside, writer Scott Snyder addressed speculation that DC K.O. might end the red hot Absolute Universe. Snyder said that simply was not true.
Snyder said that the growing Absolute Universe and the shifting DC All-In mainline are actually “one giant saga.”
