Mattel Kicks off UNO Elite Tournament in U.S. Hobby Shops

The biggest weekend in football is almost here, and Mattel is getting in on the action. Mirroring the National Football League’s (NFL) playoffs, the company is launching a nationwide tournament to determine the No. 1 UNO Elite player. 

Until Jan. 11, football fans and gamers across the U.S. can head to their local hobby shops to compete in the first-ever UNO Elite Playoffs. In this tournament, players of all skill levels will battle head-to-head for bragging rights, local crowns, and the chance to compete in the UNO Elite Championship Game, kicking off in Las Vegas on Super Bowl Sunday. 

Here’s the deal: every player who competes in the local playoffs will be automatically entered into the UNO Elite Championship Sweepstakes. By Jan. 12, four players and one lucky hobby shop owner will be selected to head to Las Vegas to face off in the championship match Feb. 8. The winner will receive the ultimate title of UNO Elite Champion and a grand prize of $10,000. 

Before the cards start flying, the finalists will also experience a behind-the-scenes tour of Allegiant Stadium, iconic Vegas entertainment, and other wild surprises. To top it all off, the UNO Elite Championship will be hosted by Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas, cheering players on from the sidelines as they duke it out.
