The Wayward Ghouls are here — a found family of monster misfits ready to haunt the hearts of collectors. Their home? A cursed video store that’s equal parts punk house and animal rescue, appearing only to those who need it most. At the center is Squeaks, a pint-sized guide who reveals himself to lost souls and stray critters in need of friendship.
Squeaks emerges somewhere near the intersection of designer toys and nostalgia, channeling the spirit of ‘80s and ‘90s monster toys and movies. Kreature Kid‘s Adam Dougherty (The Predator, Rob Zombie’s The Munsters) designed and sculpted a hand-painted prototype from a concept by graphic designer and art director Michael Harring (Funko, Willie’s Reserve), crafted with adult collectors and quality top of mind.
Now, the Wayward Ghouls have crept onto Kickstarter in the hunt for the financial backing needed to send the brand into collectors’ homes, and perhaps one day, toy stores everywhere.
Pending a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Wayward Ghouls universe will expand, with more characters waiting in the wings. Interested parties can join the misfit monster family by pledging today. At press time, the campaign has received $17,051 pledged against a $49,269 goal. This project is all or nothing and will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Friday, September 19, 2025, at 12:13 a.m. CDT.
