Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Afghan Whigs is an American rock band from the mid-80s. The band was a large player in the 80s grunge movement and work within the indie rock, r&b, and grunge genres. Gentlemen, originally released in 1993, was their first major label debut studio album, and it skyrocketed their popularity in the genre. Afghan Whigs was active until 2001 when they disbanded, but have since reunited in 2012. Gentlemen was written by band member Dulli while the band was on tour in 1992 and has been considered by many critics to be Afghan Whigs’ best record. In the 90s, the band had disputed with their record label and ceased any new records. The band has gone through several line-up and member changes throughout the years, and each song is always recorded just a bit differently, giving each album a unique sound. Formed in 1992, the Wu-Tang Clan is from New York City and released their debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in 1993. Since its release, it has received worldwide critical acclaim and has been named one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. You know nobody can mess with the Wu-Tang Clan!

PSYCHEDELIC KINGS THE STOOGES REISSUE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM THE STOOGES!
This week is the week of 60s and 70s psychedelic rock for sure!! The Stooges was originally known as Iggy and the Stooges or the Psychedelic Stooges coming from Michigan. Iggy Pop formed the group in 1967 in Ann Arbor. Though not seeing much success in their original releases, The Stooges and Fun House, the group released a few more albums between 1972-2013 with the assistance of David Bowie and begun to draw more attention to their albums. The Stooges is their self-titled debut album originally released in 1969 by Elektra records (the same record company that worked with The Doors). Peaking just under the top 100, the album had many successful singles that have since made it into some lists of the best songs of all time.
