Time goes by fast. It’s been 35 years since Sonic the Hedgehog first appeared on-screen, and SEGA is celebrating the anniversary with a slate of events, brand collaborations, and content that take the character’s legacy to the next level.
Over the next year, the speedster will star in a variety of fan experiences, including museum pop-ups, art exhibits, live concerts, in-person gatherings, and even a narrative podcast. To spread the word, SEGA will release a wave of new digital content highlighting the characters’ most iconic moments over the last 35 years.
Sonic will also take center stage in limited-edition merchandise with exclusive brand and retail partnerships. The first Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversary merch drop is available now through Amazon Merch on Demand and features tees, hoodies, hats, home goods, and more, all sporting the celebration’s official logo.
“We’re incredibly proud to celebrate 35 years of our beloved Sonic franchise with our fans,” said Marcella Churchill, Vice President of SEGA/ATLUS Brand Marketing at SEGA of America. “This milestone is not just a reflection of our past, but also a look toward the future as we continue to innovate and grow. We want to bring our community together and create memorable experiences for all our fans throughout 2026!”
