In collaboration with Hasbro, The LEGO Group reveals a new building set inspired by the Transformers franchise. The LEGO Icons Transformers Soundwave Set creates an immersive building experience for adult fans and captures the essence of the popular Decepticon character.
Consumers can roll out into new building experiences with a LEGO brick interpretation of Soundwave. The 1505-piece model features poseable joints, a working cassette bay, and seamless conversions between the robot and cassette modes. As a first-ever twist, consumers can press Soundwave’s play button to hear specially recorded voice and sound effects inspired by the Decepticon.
The Soundwave model set also includes Ravage and Laserbeak. These two buildable companions can convert into mini cassette tapes that snugly fit into Soundwave’s chest bay. For added authenticity, the Decepticon model comes with a rocket pod, a laser blaster, and darts.
LEGO builders can display their creations alongside the display plaque, which showcases Soundwave’s power statistics. Soundwave joins the existing LEGO Icons Transformers line, which currently includes Optimus Prime and Bumblebee models.
The LEGO Icons Transformers Soundwave set launches at mass retailers Aug. 4, with early access for LEGO Insiders members Aug. 1. To view more Transformers-themed building sets, visit LEGO.com.
