This Week’s New Manga Highlights for 7/16/25!

One Punch Man Volume 31

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on! Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?

In volume 31, Monster Association big shots are taking out S-class heroes one after another… That is, until the strongest man alive, King, rises to confront this crisis. Though the monsters are seething with malice, King appears cool and composed. But can his cool act defuse the dire situation?!

Tower Dungeon Volume 1

An evil necromancer slays the king and carries off his daughter, secreting her in the legendary Dragon Tower. To save the princess, her steadfast Royal Guard assays the stronghold, but the way is blocked by powerful eldritch creatures… So, to supplement their forces in the face of mounting casualties, they press ordinary folks from the surrounding villages into service—including Yuva, a sturdy young farmboy with a strong back but no experience in battle, and only a battered old helm and wooden shield to protect him.

Master of science fiction Tsutomu Nihei (Blame!, Knights of Sidonia) turns his unique storytelling voice and architectural eye to fantasy for the first time, offering a dark, gritty tale of swords and sorcery, bravery and adventure, great heroes and ultimate evil. Gird your loins, heft your blade, and enter the Dragon Tower.

Vagabond Definitive Edition Volume 3

At 17 years of age, Miyamoto Musashi—still known by his childhood name, Shinmen Takezō—is a wild young brute just setting out along the way of the sword. In the aftermath of the epic Battle of Sekigahara, Takezō finds himself a fugitive survivor on the losing side of the war. Takezō’s vicious nature has made him an outcast even in his own village, and he is hunted down like an animal. At this crucial crossroads in Takezō’s life, an eccentric monk and a childhood friend are the only ones who can help him find his way.

In volume 3, daunting tasks lie before Miyamoto Musashi—he must overcome his personal demons as he prepares for a rematch with Inshun, the most technically proficient and deadly fighter he has ever faced. This time, Musashi won’t run away, even if his life depends on it.

Tokyo Fears Rhapsody Volume 1

Hachiro was built to be the ultimate terror—a monstrous force created by the ancient Fears to bring humanity to its knees. But after a chance encounter with ice cream, he falls headfirst into human culture, much to the disgust of his fellow monsters. Now seen as a traitor and hunted by his creator, Hachiro hides his true identity while scraping by with odd jobs, torn between the world he came from and the one he’s grown to love.

Everything changes when he lays eyes on the Unbelievables, a new Metro PD unit equipped with sleek mecha suits and heroic flair. Inspired, Hachiro dreams of becoming more than just a monster—but the path to acceptance is littered with secrets, battles, and questions he’s not ready to face. Can a creature of destruction ever become a symbol of hope? Or is he doomed to remain a fearsome shadow, no matter how many scoops of ice cream he eats?

Tokyo Alien Bros Volume 3

Fuyunosuke Tanaka is a perfectly ordinary college student, except for one thing—he’s secretly an alien. He and his brother Natsutaro have traveled across the galaxy to study the people of Earth and evaluate the planet’s resources, but adapting to life on this new world may prove a bit harder than they thought. Fuyunosuke’s been living the good life in Tokyo. In fact, he’s almost got the whole “being human” thing down. His brother Natsutaro, on the other hand, can’t figure out the first thing about blending in on this strange planet. There’s still a lot they don’t know about humans, but with any luck, Fuyunosuke might just be able to show his bro that life on this little blue ball isn’t so bad after all.

In volume 3, as hard as Fuyunosuke and Natsutaro worked to succeed in their mission, their efforts seem all for naught. With no word from Central Command, the two are faced with a difficult decision—should they finally return to their own people or remain on Earth?
